  1. I really enjoy going to Headingley, but the North stand looks poor on TV- it sounds and looks much poorer on tv now as a stadium.
  2. Sport requires highs and lows. In any league system you sometimes have little to play for some seasons, in other seasons lots. In league one football, teams 8 to 18 have not much to play for. (Probably definitely nothing with 2 games to go) That's sport- not every year will be exciting
  3. In a league system, some games don't matter that much towards the end. So what? You showcase the 3 or 4 that do and the other 2 occur- which could be good, stress free matches for those watching
  4. Have we considered that value of RL deal is much more about whether Sky and BT are battling for broadband subscribers rather than quality on pitch? As for gap- in 2004 ish we had numerous 70 plus beatings- I think standards fairly comparable? The game has changed though- more structured
  5. I thought Try was good. Much better to not have video ref involved Enjoying the slightly limited BBC coverage- feels quite special in a funny way. (Problem with all games live is saturation- individual games often feel less special)
  6. I read that Gladiators contestant, Finlay Anderson, played rugby league for Scotland- do we know what level?
  7. That's occurring on 4th April. Channel rebrand on 9th April. But RFL need to accept/ decline their offer?
  8. I know I sound like a broken record, but £120 for exclusive championship and 4 SL matches (with a cheap international ticket or Sunday magic ticket) is surely a no brainer? You have circa 30,000 regular championship attendees and 120k SL attendees to market to. You need circa 10k to make it add up
  9. So costs are roughly £500k a year. Surely 10k subs at £100 is possible to make it part of Super league plus (you could also throw in a cup final ticket or magic Sunday ticket to boost sales if you bought it) ?
  10. The RFL must have run numbers but is premier offer plus production costs (?) worth more than potential SL plus growth minus production costs? Im very sceptical it would be
  11. I presume you could keep parts of current ground? I was thinking how council could get money back. All a mess really!
  12. I'm really enjoying Sky coverage. Happy with 2 or 3 on a Friday- provides choice without saturation. Don't miss Wells at video screen. Woods, Wilson excellent additions. Good to hear different voices. Only downside is video ref and the extensive use of it and poor match direction at some of the non exclusive Sky games
  13. Random thought- if Old Trafford is redeveloped with a new build- could they turn current Old Trafford into 20k stadium that Salford could play in (like Etihad campus) and sell AJ Bell to Sale? Unicorns and all that I know
  14. Saints do remind me a bit of Penrith, but I like that new tackle laws have encouraged off loading. Percival with brain explosion, Saints would have probably won 28-10 ish without it Enjoyed Pyke and Wilkin but production need to show coaches less and much fewer replays during live play.
