A stalwart of radio comedy in our house for many years Guardian announcement I'm shocked to hear this. I hadn't realised he was ill. Hardy could be very funny and quite maddening sometimes, but he was always worth listening to and his dry humour could be quite cutting.

Futtocks
A shock - he'd evidently kept his illness secret. I have every episode of 'Jeremy Hardy speaks to the Nation' recorded, and they get replays on a regular basis. A very funny man. Padge
Jeremy Hardy was one of favourite comedians, his style and his observations always gave ma a good laugh. As has been said above, this is one of those that comes out of the blue and knocks you sideways. Got to say I was a bit surprised he was coming on his own tbh , footballers usually come with a little entourage and agent . Now that’s seems a blessing , really terrible story It's been confirmed now. It's been so sad. He had everything to look forward to. He seemed such a pleasant and down to earth person. The photo of his dog waiting for him was so moving. Fortunately his sister will care for him. Immensely regarded among his peers Can’t remember the title but a scene in one of his films was shot on the end of our street. my mom bless her, doesn’t know they’re filming and sees a guy (Finney) on his knees screaming to the sky. The cameras are hid behind the gable end. Being the lovely woman she was she ran on the street to help this poor chap, right into the shot!! ”Cut” shouts the director, Finney hugs my mom and says “you’re a lovely lady” she was flustered for weeks Edited February 9, 2019 by Phil 6 "Freedom without socialism is privilege and injustice, socialism without freedom is slavery and brutality" - Mikhail Bakunin

Bedford Roughyed
RIP Gordon Banks. With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
