Brits in the NRL: 2024 Edition
StandOffHalf replied to Futtocks's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Pryce is a raw talent, who will do good things in attack but offer up openings on D. He's exciting but does have noticeable weaknesses to his game. -
I really liked his passion on Sky.

Game of the season so far IMO. Warrington came back to win, but Leigh's defence didn't deserve to see them lose. I think that's an 80 minutes that will stand both teams in great stead. I thought Leigh were the better team for 65 minutes, but Warrington's ability to winreflects well on the mentality Burgess is instilling.

I didn't see the start of the game from Headingley but why were they playing the Last Post in April? -
An Ashes Tour Itinerary For A New Era
StandOffHalf replied to Sports Prophet's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Bang on. England in the semi post-colonial present tends to mean just England. English used to be somewhat synonymous/interchangeable with British. Hence, patriotic songs such as Vera Lynn's 'There'll Always Be An England'. I think there is an argument that the team for Ashes series and tours should be styled as GB, as that would continue the tradition - and allow for any stand-out non-English players to be there. -
An Ashes Tour Itinerary For A New Era

Exactly this. I don't think there is the finance for a 7-game tour but in an ideal world such an itinerary would allow the second-stringers a chance to stake their case and build up to the Kangaroos. -

JWH with a good wrapping legs tackle on NAS penalised. Just the wrong call. A number of concerning calls from Klein and Gee out there tonight. Chooks not threatening enough in attack, but the calls had a regrettable affect on the outcome. A good tough contest though. -

Yes, no attempt to catch. Just ran into the catcher. Pretty clear that that should have been a Chooks pen. -

Klein giving the ball back to Melbourne sees Coates impressively get over. Melbourne have certainly got a big percentage of calls tonight. -

Teddy should have been off for an early bath with that trip on the Melbourne catcher. Knock-on by the Chooks, but surely Melbourne took their advantage. Klein gives them back the ball, contentiously. -

Manu over in the corner over the bat-back from Sua'ali. Smashing side-line conversion from the union-bound winger as well, to bring it level. Set up for a cracking finish here.
