It will be no surprise to anyone that I didn't watch the game. I refuse to subscribe to Sky TV and had no intention of attending LSV. However, absolutely delighted that Wigan won.

Have requested access so will see what happens. I believe that the whole 1987 concept, which the RL in Chapeltown Road Leeds would not support, was dreamt up in The Boars Head public house. Wigan originally wanted to play Paramatta, B Kenny, P Sterling etc. However, what a scarlet night it was and I am guessing that there were 50000 on the ground as it was literally impossible to move.

Worst game in terms of atmosphere had to be the 1984 Lancashire Cup Final at Central Park. The miner's strike was on and the crowd was hostile with incidents and violence within and outside the ground. I left early.

I had only missed the second test of the 1986 series against Australia having been at the first at Old Trafford that year and I attended every one in the UK until that 2004 game. After that my enthusiasm evaporated as I was totally sick of watching GB/ England lose when it mattered.

Appreciate its off topic so apologies in advance. Have a 1989 CC final programme signed by Wigan. Anyone any idea how much it might be worth and whom I would contact about selling it?

Anybody know anything about the report of fireworks being set off outside the hotel where Penrith were staying? Assume that they have now flown home and a great victory for Wigan is now a part of history. Greg Alexander has said that the Wardle try is the worst in history. As an earlier poster posted Ryan Hall try 2014 wasn't given by Australian video referee as there wasn't conclusive proof to award the try. That was the worst decision ever IMHO. Let's all move on happily.

I went to the Vetch Field to that game. There was talk of a SL club in Swansea/ Cardiff at the time? Celtic Crusaders resulted years later but collapsed financially?
