I think it might be Alternaleaf, a "holistic" medical service who prescribe medicinal cannabis-based treatments, among other medical services. On the Dolphins site they don't have Alternaleaf listed among their sponsors anymore although some of their 2024 strips have shown it. Some versions showed Cove as the sponsor but they aren't listed on the site anymore either. The jumpers in their site shop show a blank space in that area although the main pic shows Jake Armadillo wearing the Alternaleaf version. Is medicinal pot not legal in Australia now? Farmduck Posted Friday at 11:01 Share Posted Friday at 11:01 Quote NRL team Dolphins have received an ‘education and guidance letter’ from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) over their partnership with Alternaleaf, a company that prescribes medicinal cannabis. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the TGA is reviewing the sponsorship deal over breaches of the Therapeutic Goods Act that bans the advertisement of prescription medicine. B&T understands that the Dolphins have been issued an education and guidance letter to ensure the obligations under the Act are understood. https://www.bandt.com.au/a-blunt-end-dolphins-medicinal-cannabis-sponsorship-at-risk/ Basically the TGA is saying that, despite presenting itself as a full-service medical operation, Alternaleaf is effectively just a brand or purveyor of cannabis-based medications. So I guess the contract has been called off.
Farmduck Posted Friday at 11:05 Share Posted Friday at 11:05 It is the same with advertising any named prescription drug. With a Viagra ad they can talk about erectile dysfunction and say, "Ask your doctor if there are any treatments suitable for you," or similar, but they can't say Viagra. I've often wondered that. Hasler got the Dogs to 2 GFs in 6 years and reached the finals in 3 other years and got punted. This was after he won a GF at Manly and was instantly punted. Yet Arthur has won nothing in 10 years at Parra, they've only reached the finals 4 times and he's still there.
