Ref had a pretty good game considering he was about 11 years old and that as a Swinton fan seeing us penalised twice as much as Oldham takes some saying Thought Kopzak deserved at least a yellow for his shoulder charge and hurt himself in the process. Other than that there were few contentious issues and I'm struggling to see many inconsistencies watching it back today

Definitely the same player Hes changed his name a year or 2 ago Hes been solid for us for a few seasons but has become particularly effective end of last season and this.

For many recent years kids went free. Indeed under 16s season tickets were also free. Research by the club suggests that there was almost zero take up from home or away fans leading to them charging the small fee this season I think its daft too. But the prices are the same for Oldham as they are for every other club this season. I'm sure it's going to be a great game.

Personally I think it is fabulous to see Oldham rise from the bottom. Surely it's good if all the local clubs do well?

That was the one he was a beast. Sunday was good. We did what we needed to do and we've got good back up I'm Hammond and Badrock. Feel a little sorry for Badrock. Would appear to be second choice centre behind Spedding and Hatton as he was one of out best players last season. Hope he gets a fair crack of the whip. Abram moved to hooker in the second half and was superb. Spencer Tonks looks a beast too. Very strong.

We look a lot tougher than last season. Hope that doesn't deteriorate into ill discipline when we play tougher teams I really like the look of our backs. Quality selections 1 to 7 with Brad Hammond in reserve looking a useful acquisition. I still think we are 1 prop short but looking at some of Saints giant youngsters in the friendly there were definitely a couple of spares there. Lewis Hall/Charnock looks rejuvenated and better than ever. He's as strong as a horse and Jack Houghton looks the bargain buy of the close season.

I guess most of these points of view are based on definitions of sleeping giants. York and Doncaster are 2 strange calls as neither have won anything ever Halifax have had success and Bradford but most of theirs is more recent. How long do they have to have been sleeping? Sleeping giants to me Oldham,Widnes and of course Swinton who even now stand high on the all time honours list.
