  1. 35. Rimmerworld. The team are on an abandoned ship, belonging to Simulants, killer androids. They're there to help themselves to any valuable gear they can get. However an injured Simulant is on board who is going to kill them all. Rimmer in act of bravery, and not because he was trying to escape, jumps in an escape capsule and ..er escapes. But this act , as the capsule blasts off, sends ripples through the infrastructure of the damaged ship, in the confusion our heroes escape. Well done Rimmer, a hero at last. Unfortunately the capsule he's in goes through a wormhole before he can be pulled off. Rimmer ends up on a world alone, and the Starbug crew arrive 500 years later in Rimmer's timeframe, almost immediately from Lister , Cat and Kryten's timeframe. What has Rimmer been up to for 500 years. Why does everyone on this planet look like Rimmer? It's too horrible to contemplate. 36. Out Of Time. Still no sign of the lost Red Dwarf ship, so the Starbug crew need cheering up, so Rimmer has an idea for their personal betterment. Thankfully before that can happen they make an amazing discovery, on an abandoned ship , they get a time machine. They plug it into Starbug's engines and they can time travel. Unfortunately not space travel any quicker so they're still out in deep space 3 million years from Earth. Then they recieve a signal from.....Starbug...from the future, It's them!! Future Lister, Rimmer, Kryten and Cat have travelled back in time to meet them to get a component to repair their time drive. But they've changed, not for the better. Kryten wears a wig, and all of them traverse time tasting the best life has to offer, throughout history. They love socialising, the Hitlers being there favourite hosts. What the hell has happened to our heroes, integrity gone, good taste gone, they've become freeloading parasites. A showdown is inevitable, current against future Red Dwarfers, who'll win ?
  2. 33. Gunmen Of The Apocalypse. Simulants are killer androids who despise humans, they attack Starbug, but our heroes win. Before the Simulants ship is destroyed they transmit an electronic virus to Starbug's engines. To combat this Kryten must plug himself into the ship and combat the virus. His battle is translated in his mind as a battle for power in a Wild West town, Lister and Co enter this dream Wild West town to help out. 34. Emohawk- Polymorph 2 Second encounter with the shape shifting polymorph creature. The crew need to trade with a tribe to get an engine part, unfortunately the price is Lister's hand in marriage to the chief's daughter, who is not exactly a looker. When the team steal the part the Chief's pet emohawk polymorph creature is set on them. The polymorph gets on board Starbug on shape shifts and attacks the crew, as before feeding on an emotion removed from our heroes.
  3. Series 6. 31. Psirens. Red Dwarf the ship is gone, stolen! The crew are confined to Starbug mini craft, and must find Red Dwarf. After 200 years following the Red Dwarf vapour trail Lister and the Cat are revived from cryogenic hibernation, Rimmer reactivated, and the search continues. On an asteroid they encounter hallucination inducing mind sucking insectoid life. 32. Legion. The crew in pursuit of Red Dwarf meet Legion, an entity that needs other minds to become active from its dormant state. Legion was created by 4 scientists and shared their minds and personalities. Now its mind is made up of thoughts and emotions of Lister and Co. A bit of a comedown.
  4. 29. Demons And Angels. The matter transmitter previously seen is adapted by Kryten to transmit and replicate matter, hopefully to boost their food supply. However a slight miscalculation means Red Dwarf blows up and is destroyed. But two new Red Dwarfs are created, along with duplicate crews. On one ship is angelic versions of Lister, Rimmer, The Cat and Kryten, the other demonic evil counterparts. They must be faced in order to get the original ship back. 30. Back To Reality. Red Dwarf isn't real of course, the characters are fictional. So after being killed by a giant squid, our 4 heroes awake to discover it was all a virtual reality game called Red Dwarf. So who are they really? Fugitives in a fascist world and Lister and Rimmer are half brothers....or are they? The Cat is really a goofy toothed loser who lives in a Salvation Army hostel. They aren't who they thought they were.
  5. 27. Terrorform. Rimmer is stranded on a planet that has terraformed to bring all the emotions and qualities inside Rimmer's head to life. Lister and the others have to rescue him and face Rimmer's self loathing personified as a slobbering beast. 28. Quarantine. A hologram of a scientist is in suspension in an abandoned scientific research centre, the Red Dwarf team inadvertently release the hologram, Professor Langstrom who has a hologram virus turning her into a maniac. Before she dies the virus is transmitted to Rimmer, who is unaware of this, and he takes over Red Dwarf and puts the others in quarantine to protect himself. But it's too late, he has the virus, and a homicidal Rimmer is not a pretty sight.
  6. Series 5. 25. Holoship. A hologram ship , made out of pure light, staffed by holograms all with incredible IQs arrives, Rimmer desperately wants to join. He dangerously uses a mental enhancing technique to boost his IQ to pass the entrance test. He passes, he's on his way, says goodbye to Lister, Cat and Kryten , but he hadn't reckoned on one thing....Will love ruin it for Rimmer, the man that no one has ever loved. 26. The Inquisitor. Bad news, The Inquisitor, the insane time travelling android who's mission is to judge everyone in the universe, and delete those who led worthless lives, meets the Red Dwarf team. How will slobby Lister, vain Cat, cowardly Rimmer and subservient Kryten justify their lives.
  7. 22. White Hole. Holly the senile computer wants to regain her IQ of 6000, so with Kryten's help goes through a process of reducing her remaining run time to increase her cleverness. Unfortunately the plan backfires when in return for being a genius again her run time is now just 3 minutes, so she switches herself off. Not good news as the ship approaches a White Hole, the opposite of a black hole but still as deadly. 23. Dimension Jump. From another dimension comes Ace Rimmer, another Arnold Rimmer but one who is a hero, brave, manly, and ...what a guy!! Ace has dimension jumped into our dimension and meets our Rimmer , and what a disappointment Ace finds him. After crashing on an ocean planet, the Red Dwarf crew rescued by Ace really want Ace to stay. But no, Ace is on a mission to dimension jump to explore different realities, somewhere he might find a Rimmer who is more of a pain in the butt than our Rimmer.....but it's doubtful. 24. Meltdown. Kryten finds a matter transmitter in one of Red Dwarfs science labs, something that was being developed when the ship suffered the disaster that wiped everyone out..except Lister of course. The matter "paddle" transports the team to a world inhabited by waxdroids, wax robots of famous people, abandoned here in Waxworld Theme Park. The droids are having a civil war, good vs evil, droids of Marilyn Munroe, Stan Laurel, Elvis , and more versus Hitler, Caligula, Rasputin droids. Good are losing.....Rimmer to the rescue hopefully. 8. Series 4. 19. Camille. The Red Dwarf crew rescue Camille , a female survivor of a crashed ship. Strangely Lister sees her as Liverpudlian, Rimmer think she's a hologram, Kryten says she's a mechanoid, the same model as himself. Truth is she's something else altogether. This episode has plenty of references to the film Casablanca. 20. DNA On an abandoned ship the team find a three headed corpse and a machine that can change DNA. Kryten becomes human, and struggles with what it is to be organic life rather than mechanical. Love is an emotion he does not understand, he has erotic thoughts about vacuum cleaners. Kryten wants to be a mechanoid again, but the DNA changing machine isn't reliable, so to test it they try to change Lister's chicken curry to a lamb one, and inadvertently create the mutton vindaloo beast. 21. Justice. The crew come upon a pod in space, it comes from a prison planet and either contains a warder or a dangerous criminal. They take it justice world where it can be safely opened, but on arrival a mind scan reveals Rimmer's guilt in causing the accident that killed all on Red Dwarf 3 million years ago, and is sentenced to imprisonment for hundreds of years given his hologramatic status. Kryten has to act as defence attorney to save him.
  9. 17. Timeslides. Mutated photographic developing fluid means the crew's photo slides have become portals to the past. You can walk into the past so long as you have a photo of the scene. Lister goes to visit himself aged 17 and persuades him to go to the patent office and patent an invention as his before the established inventor ever got round to inventing it. This is of course immoral but the 17 year old Lister does this. The invention is the Tension Sheet, plastic packing paper painted red, a calming therapy for anxiety, you pop the plastic sheet to calm down. Lister changes history and becomes a millionaire, subsequently he never joined Red Dwarf, the Cat race was never born, and Rimmer is left on Red Dwarf for eternity alone. It is Rimmer's duty as a complete and utter b astard to reverse this. 18. The Last Day. Kryten gets a message from Devadroid International the company that made him. His warranty is running out and in the morning he will be terminated and replaced by the latest model mechanoid on its way now. But after chasing Red Dwarf for centuries the new mechanoid Hudzen is insane and wants everyone on board terminated.
  10. 15. Polymorph. A shape shifting creature boards Red Dwarf, it can change it absolutely anything, the crew discover when Lister's kebab leaps off the plate to attack him. The creature feeds by removing emotions from its victims. Lister loses his fear, Rimmer his anger, The Cat his cool and Kryten the mechanoid his loyalty. 16. Bodyswap. The personality of the dead second in command is recorded on a disc, that personality in an emergency has to be planted into Lister's body to cancel the self destruct mechanism destroying the ship, which was activated by accident. Rimmer seeing this is possible suggests he and Lister temporarily swap bodies, he goes into Lister's body and Lister temporarily becomes a hologram. In this way fitness fanatic Rimmer can get Lister fit and on a proper diet without Lister having to actually do the work. Lister agrees , but disaster as Rimmer now in a body again gets to like it and absconds with Lister's body in Starbug and threatens to shoot himself, killing both his mind and Lister's body if they come after him.
  11. Series 3. 13. Backwards. Lister does give birth to twins, but the boys cannot physically exist in this universe so are returned to the opposite one. Holly falling in love with the computer in the other universe, Hilly, now changes persona to become a version of that Computer ie.Holly now has a female personality. Rimmer and Kryten go through a time hole thingy, Lister and The Cat search for them and follow to find themselves in a backwards reality. They're in London in the 1990's but time is running backwards. Rimmer loves this reality, good things happen like, Hitler dismantling the third Reich, liberating Poland and bogging off to Austria. Lister points out that here, Father Christmas climbs down chimneys and steals kids presents. And in this reality with time backwards if they stay he'll end up getting younger and end up as a sperm in someone's testicles. They have to leave!! 14. Marooned. Lister and Rimmer are marooned on a snow bound planet, with the only food dog food and a pot noodle, so obviously it's the dog food eaten first . Kryten and the Cat search for them as Lister and Rimmer in a desperate situation learn about each other more which isn't necessarily a good thing. In the crashed Starbug hopper vehicle that the two are in awaiting rescue, Lister realises Rimmer's priceless camphor wood trunk that contains his valuables would make good firewood.
  12. 11. Queeg. Holly the senile computer almost kills Dave Lister when he was repairing the hologram simulation suite by wrongly instructing him, and the crew curse his incompetence. The back up computer Queeg 500 comes on-line to take charge. Holly is relieved of duty, but Queeg is a workaholic maniac who makes life hell for the crew. Can they get Holly reinstalled. 12. Parallel Universe. The Holly Hop Drive instead of getting them home instantly as Holly promised, flips them into a parallel universe. There they meet another Red Dwarf and crew, but are opposite to them gender wise. A female Lister and Rimmer, and a Dog person instead of Cat. Lister and female Lister make out, but it's male Lister who gets pregnant as they're in this opposite universe. As Rimmer says, that's how Lister got those two babies on Red Dwarf without a woman on board.(s01e02). The crew return to our universe and is Lister really going to give birth? YES!
  13. 9. Thanks For The Memory. The crew wake up and have lost a few days memory and the Cat and Lister have plaster casts on broken feet. Why? The black box recorder reveals the truth, a party to celebrate Rimmer's death day went wrong . 10. Stasis Leak. Lister is reading Rimmer's diary written 3 million years ago before his death and is puzzled by an entry. Rimmer wrote that after recovering from eating magic mushrooms he saw a version of himself talking about coming from the future to rescue him from impending disaster. Could that have been hologram Rimmer going back in time ? Yes! A stasis leak on the ship enables the crew to go back to before the initial accident. Can they prevent it, or ar least can Lister persuade Chrissy Kochanski his girl to go into suspension to avoid death or will Rimmer get there first to get his earlier self to go into suspension instead? 14. Series 2. 7. Kryten First alien contact and it turns out to be the android version of Norman Bates. An android serving his crew on a crashed ship, but the crew are all dead, as Rimmer says, there's less meat on them than a chicken McNugget. Kryten the android , or mechanoid as he terms himself has to come to terms with his crew's demise, and then he joins Red Dwarf to become the 4th member of the team. 8. Better Than Life. The Red Dwarf crew enter virtual reality to play the game , Better Than Life, where you can live out your dreams. Unfortunately Rimmer's mind is in a state and contaminates the game.
  15. 4. Waiting For God. What became of all the other Cat people? There is an old cat man still alive in the hold, and Lister discovers he was seen as their God and they all left after a war about donut hats. Meanwhile a Space pod found drifting is taken aboard. Does it contain an alien ,can they give Rimmer a new body? 5. Confidence And Paranoia. Lister is struck down with a virus, that makes his dreams solid and real. Two characters appear created by the virus, Lister's confidence and paranoia. Who will he listen to? " Confidence " urges Lister to find the hologram disc of Kochanski that Rimmer has hidden and usurp his authority. 6. Me 2 OMG there are two hologram versions of Rimmer now. Rimmer 1 moves in Rimmer 2, and leaves Lister to his own bunk and sloppiness while Rimmer is in heaven living with himself. But the two Rimmers fall out. Lister is fed up with their constant bickering and gets Holly to erase one of them but which one? Lister will erase Rimmer 2 and let Rimmer1 the original stay if he reveals why his dying word recorded for posterity was " Gespatcho Soup"
  16. 2. Future Echoes Lister is going into suspended animation again for the journey home, much to Rimmer's annoyance. Then before that can happen Rimmer sees Lister blown apart in an explosion in the drive room. It's a future echo , a vision of the future because of the ship's approach to light speed. Also seen is a photo of a future Lister holding two babies. How can he get kids without a woman on board? 3. Balance Of Power Christine Kochanski love interest of Lister is now dead of course, but Lister would like Holly to bring her back as a hologram. That means turning Rimmer off! No chance as Rimmer is his superior officer, even though they're 3 million years in the future , Rimmer is holding on to that. Lister decides to try and become an officer by becoming a qualified chef, thus becoming superior in rank to Rimmer.
  17. RED DWARF Series 1. 1. The End. On board the Jupiter Mining Vessel Red Dwarf is among the 100's of souls Dave Lister, Liverpudlian , a slob, and a lowly grease monkey. Lister smuggles aboard a pet cat, and hides it away. The Captain finds out and Lister is given the choice; either hand the cat over or spend the 18 months left of the voyage in suspended animation without pay. He chooses the latter. When the ship's computer Holly releases him from suspension he tells him a sorry tale. While suspended the ship suffered a Cadmium radiation leak, all are dead, EVERYONE. That was 3 MILLION years ago, The radiation is gone and Lister was released, but now he is 3 million years from Earth and all alone. Well not quite alone, Holly has the capability to revive one crew member as a hologram, it chose Arnold Rimmer, Lister's bunk mate. Rimmer is one step up the rung of superiority than Lister, but is basically a d***head , officious, obnoxious, cowardly and full of himself. Holly reasoned the perfect person to keep Lister sane in the years ahead. But there's another person here too , Homo Feline, a walking talking smart dressed cocky self centred CAT. Lister's cat 3 million years ago was locked in the hold and survived the radiation, and bred, generation after generation after generations of cats, until we have the Cat creature here now. Lister wants to return to Earth no matter what state the human race is in now, even if the ants have taken over and the humans are in the humanbeingatarium. The journey begins.
  18. 25. THE PURSUED David is contacted by Anne Gibbs, an alien who is on the run from both her fellow aliens and humans. She is the undesired result of an attempt to mimic human behavior by creating emotion. It's been successful in part, as she now values her own life as well as those of humans, but in the process she frequently now loses control and becomes violent when even mildly angered, and has killed a woman in one of her outbursts. Still, she tells David she will come with him to Washington to tell officials everything she knows about the aliens' plans. But the aliens plan to kill her to stop her, and the husband of the woman she killed is also after her seeking revenge. FINAL EPISODE 26. INQUISITION In Washington, a senator is killed by a bomb blast just after David and Edgar try unsuccessfully to convince him that a security advisor is an alien. A zealous and politically ambitious prosecuting attorney then plans to make a name for himself by indicting the members of the Believers for the murder, just as they are discovering that the aliens' grand plan to take over the earth and wipe out humanity is imminent.
  19. 23. THE MIRACLE Near a Catholic shrine in New Mexico, a teenage girl sees an alien die and disintegrate after he's bitten by a snake. Before he dies, he hands her a crystal, which she assumes both the alien and the crystal are signs from her god. Knowing the crystal's actually a part of an alien apparatus, David tries to buy it from her, but she's unwilling, and her uncle wants more money. David tries to explain that the aliens will kill to get it back. 24. THE LIFE SEEKERS A police officer's shot and wounded by an alien, who he shoots and sees disintegrate. A roadblock's set up for the other 2 in the car which got away.,David's brought to the 2 aliens, who claim to disagree with the' plan to invade earth, and other aliens want to destroy them before they can get back to their planet and make the case against invasion. They persuade David to help them evade the police roadblock and get them to their spaceship safely.
  20. 21. THE PEACEMAKER David Vincent and Archie Harmon manage to capture an alien, and bring him to General Concannon as proof. But another alien manages to slip him a suicide capsule, and soon there is nothing but ashes. Concannon sees the second alien blaze up, and is convinced. But he wants to meet with the alien leaders to see if a peaceful solution is possible. He sends David and several generals to an isolated farmhouse, and David arranges for several alien leaders to attend. But Concannon solves problems with violence, and he's going to solve this one by dropping a large bomb on the aliens, David, and his own men! The alien retaliation is likely to be ferocious, and the loss of life high, unless David can stop Concannon. 22. THE VISE David and Edgar intercept an alien data drop and recover the partially burned contents of a briefcase. A picture inside convinces them that Arnold Warren is an alien. Warren is seeking confirmation to a post supervising a space tracking project. He would be one of the few black men to hold such a high post. Standing between him and that goal is Jim Baxter, a Senate investigator who also happens to be black. Baxter's wife Celia wants black heroes for her son, so she's pressuring her husband to recommend Warren. Against that, David Vincent only has a wildly implausible story: that Warren is a man from outer space! Convincing Baxter to look further means appealing to his policeman's instincts.
  21. 19. THE PIT Julian Reed has apparently gone barking mad. He's seeing aliens everywhere, and finally has a public breakdown resulting in confinement to a psychiatric facility. David Vincent comes to investigate, and must decide whether Reed is really mad, or if the Invaders actually have infiltrated Reed's place of employment, the highly secret Slaton Research Center. When Julian Reed accuses David himself of being an alien, and when David's wife Pat seems reluctant to even see her own husband, David doesn't know how to proceed. Until a chance encounter between a dog and one of the guards at Slaton reveals that at least one alien has found his way into the organization. 20. THE ORGANIZATION David and Mike Calvin board a ship in search of several crates that contain "wreckage" that rained down from the sky - the pieces of a crashed saucer! But the crates are gone; the aliens got to them first. The aliens also took a large shipment of heroin destined for "The Organization" - an organized crime ring run by Peter Kalter. Kalter wants his shipment back and he's willing to kill to get it. But if David can convince him that the Invaders are here, he might gain a powerful, if ruthless and unpredictable, ally. On the other hand, others in the Organization simply want their drugs back, even if they have to sell out the human race to get them.
  22. 17. THE POSSESSED David's friend Ted Willard has written to him for help, but the letter followed David around the country. He has finally arrived at Willard's clinic, only to discover that the doctor has suffered an accident and been under the psychiatric care of his brother Martin for several weeks. And Ted seems not to remember writing David at all! The answer to this mystery may rest with Adam Lane, and the special research he is doing at the Willard Clinic. Research that could pave the way for a nearly bloodless takeover of the Earth! 18. COUNTER-ATTACK Professor Eliot Kramer has completed work which will allow the Believers to create an automated jamming station that will cause navigational malfunctions aboard incoming saucers. But unfortunately, he used the university's computers to do the work, instead of Edgar Scoville's secure machines. That has led to his discovery by the aliens. In the scuffle, Kramer dies and David has to go on the run with the key data.David does the only thing he can; he sells out to the aliens, offering them details of the jamming process in exchange for an important place in the invaders new leadership of humanity.
  23. 15. THE RANSOM David and Edgar intercept an alien en route to a regeneration station, and discover that he is a leader, a powerful figure in the alien hierarchy! But without regeneration he will not last the length of a trip to Washington. And, his people manage to surround David and trap him in a small cabin, the home of poet Cyrus Stone and his niece Claudia. Claudia resents that David has dragged her family into this, even after she sees an alien die the fiery death of his kind when on Earth. David tries to figure out how to get word to a nearby military base, while the aliens strive to recover their leader. 16. TASK FORCE David and the Believers are trying to get a powerful publisher, William Mace, on their side. They have competition in Eric Lund, who heads the task force seeking to purchase a controlling interest in Mace's publishing empire. If David and Edgar Scoville cannot persuade Mace to their cause, Lund will gain control - a disaster, since Lund is an alien. Just when they think they have Mace in their corner, he dies and his dissolute nephew Jeremy gains control. And Jeremy is very, very afraid of something. Could it have to do with the real cause of his uncle's death? Jeremy will need a crash course in the responsibilities of manhood in order to overcome the latest alien plot.
  24. 13. THE CAPTIVE Wesley Sanders breaks into the embassy of a foreign power to steal troop movement data. But he fails to disarm the security and gets caught. Examining him, Dr. Serret notices some strange signs, and recalls reading about David Vincent, who might be able to answer her questions. David is interested, but clever misdirection allow Sanders and his allies to pit David and the United States interests against those of the foreign power. The aliens are willing to destroy the embassy to keep Sanders from talking, even knowing that this may precipitate an atomic war! David finds himself forced to help the aliens. 14. THE BELIEVERS David Vincent has finally connected with several others who know the invaders are here, including industrialist Edgar Scoville. But immediately following a meeting, David and three of the Believers are ambushed. David is captured and his friends killed. But when he proves invulnerable to hypnosis, the aliens devise a new scheme to enlist David's unwitting aid in tracking down and murdering the rest of the Believers.
  25. 11. THE PROPHET Brother Avery has seen the light of a heavenly host. They are coming, and they will bring peace. At the end of each of his services, the red glow that surrounds him reveals the divinity that inspires him! But David Vincent knows that this glow actually signifies that Avery is an alien who needs to regenerate. David's trouble is figuring out how to prove it when Avery is surrounded at all times by fanatics - not all of whom are human. The key may lie in Now magazine writer Bill Shay, if David can trust him with the truth. 12. LABYRINTH David manages to subdue an alien and takes him to a doctor. The x-rays reveal that internally he's not human. This is proof that David can take to a project that investigates the possibility of extraterrestrial contact. He offers the x-rays to the project director, Dr Crowell, but the wife of the doctor who took them recants, claiming the x-rays David offered are fakes. It's clear someone's pressured her, and that someone close to the project, Crowell's daughter, is acting strangely suspicious.
