We were poor today no direction everything seemed clunky as though we had just met as a team. I thought we would get beat today but with 2 players sent off we should be doing better even against 11 men we struggled to find gaps. If there is a take over or not wish the club would just make a statement to confirm or deny we are the fans after all it’s our club all we want is stability.
-
Yes I read that it’s down to the budget apparently, the same fans thought they should beat us today with the money they spent. Oldham should win league 1 and no doubt will be a strong championship team in time but as we know you can have the players but they sometimes don’t play as a team.
-
Agree good first half performance totally dominated the only thing that got Oldham field position was the short restarts after we scored. We did fall away in the second half it became very scrappy if we had kept the foot on the gas we would have put 60+ on them. I watched the 2 televised games of oldhams they looked good but today I thought they were poor Keighley may push them in league 1.
-
Looking forward to todays game be nice to see us play some rugby after last weeks match. Oldham have signed well but have lost 3 forwards which will be a big loss for them let’s hope the ref lets the game flow.
-
I think Cunningham picked up a injury at Newcastle I don’t know about ATA I believe he had surgery on his ankle and was not going to play until the league season but did play the second half against Newcastle.
-
Is there any news on Santi he came off injured and didn’t look happy he was indicating that something had broken in his foot. Could be expensive day yesterday looks like dagger will get banned losing Santi and any comeback on the late hits by Thompson and Dee. Regarding consistency with the ref I think we were lucky not to get another sin binned with the tip tackle late in the first half.
-
Our own worst enemies today I know the ref caused a lot of controversy but we gave him the opportunity. If dagger has head butted his opponent that’s poor from him and I think with a 13 vs 13 we win but playing long periods with either 11 or 12 men we can’t really judge our team. Big game now next week need to address the discipline and not get drawn in like we did today. Positives Josh Daley looked sharp and keinhourst showed some good touches especially the tackle on gwaze.
-
Will be tough game against Oldham they have recruited very well and started the season unbeaten beating 2 championship sides and drawing with London in a friendly so not to be taken lightly. Saying that the draw has been favourable it does give us a chance to get to Wembley.
-
Tough game today on a heavy pitch we ground out a result and positives were Josh Daley looked dangerous when he was on so hopefully his injury is behind him. We did seem clueless in attack for long periods moving forward hoping we can play a settled half back pairing and give them chance to develop a partnership. Dewsbury gave us a hard game and probably didn’t deserve to loose but will take it glad I went but it was bloody cold.

Luckily for the marketing team they have you to point out there mistakes

I think this shows the unfair advantage off the clubs gaining promotion by the time they have been promoted the majority of players have been signed up for super league and your left with the scraps. Also the better players in your team the ex super league players have stepped down a level to pursue a career after playing full time and don’t want to go back full time for maybe 1-2 years. The advantage Wakefield have it looks like there going to be promoted through the IMG grading but they would most probably win promotion anyway but it gives them the luxury of been able to plan for next season already which is fantastic if your a Wakefield supporter. For me i can understand they want to improve facilities and make the clubs better stronger and hopefully will make things good in the long run but ultimately promotion should be won on the pitch for me.
-
With regard to the timekeeper and the hooter didn’t the hooter blow and they had a play the ball after this and scored I know it did not make any difference to the result but in a tight game could be a nightmare.
-
As I was walking out a Wakefield fan was been sick up the wall not a good look and heard from another Wakefield fan that the trouble was between themselves not what you want to see at the rugby. Sounds like too much beer it’s a shame as Wakefield turned out in numbers but fair play to the Wakefield fans I spoke to they were not happy about the idiot’s hopefully they can identify them and deal with them accordingly.
-
To be fair I think everyone expected this result today we were beaten up in the forwards and as a result our backs were on the back foot with no space to play. Wakefield are a super league side in all aspects they have remained full time and probably strengthened there squad from last year and it showed against us. I thought we dug in after a disastrous start and battled to the end . I thought Jack Teanby drove the ball well and we have players to come in as well and after todays results baring Bradford and keighley drawing we should qualify.
-
Some great try’s yesterday and good individual performances. Will dagger looked class his second try was a belter. A lot has been made about the new play the ball rules but I don’t think there was 1 penalty blown for this and we only conceded 2 penalties all match which were both late in the second half hopefully we can carry this discipline on. Big test against Wakefield next week hopefully a big crowd and a cracking game.

Yes I think it was Chris Macklin Shaw
-
Fantastic news hope everything goes well for him.

It depends when you bought your ticket if you bought it early you got the packs for nothing but after a certain date you could still get the packs but I think they were £10. They are nice, maybe fire a email to them or when your in the shop they may have one waiting for you.

I like the fact we have signed these 3 young players they obviously showed potential at there super league clubs and rather than be thrown back to the amateur game or even lost to the game are given a chance to develop. Players take different time to develop and been around seasoned pros with our facilities can only benefit them and hopefully us, there is a pathway to the first team if your good enough such as AJ, Miles, Brad and Toby warren to Leeds by taking your time with some players you reap the rewards. Very positive in my eyes looking to the future with the younger players.
-
Glad Brad has signed always given 100% when playing, think he’s was a little unlucky not to get more game time hopefully he does next year or maybe a short loan out to give him more game time.
-
He looks a decent signing I remember him scoring against us this year looked very fast. The backs look pretty sorted now hopefully some big forwards to come in but looking in decent shape now.
-
I wanted to read about transfers not a petty argument just swap numbers and argue in private before the thread gets locked again.
-
I hope it works out for him, the problem is younger players get snapped up by the super league clubs where some players like Riley would have been better left to develop with a championship club for 2-3 years rather than be shipped from club to club, but the super league clubs want to snap every young talent in fear of losing out but when they don’t make it are shown the door and probably lost to the game.
-
Gutted about that he looks a class act but can understand his reasons with Wakefield staying full time and hope he goes well.
-
To be fair we don’t know he’s gone until it’s official but if he has I agree with you 100% I heard he was on big money and for the odd moment of magic is he worth it?
