  6. He is a former Great Britain Rugby League captain, Great Britain team manager for 5 years and has a sports science degree. I can understand if people don't like his style of punditry but I can't see how he could be described as lacking knowledge of the sport.

  9. Merry Christmas to all Town fans from this Rochdale Hornets fan. Look forward to our battles in the new season. Always enjoyed my trips ‘up north’…even when we have got belted!

  11. Hello there gang, I won his playing shirt from Wembley, unfortunately it's a wee bit tight on me rather than let it go to rack and ruin and never be seen again I have given it back to Dale to help raise funds for him and also a team signed rugby ball I won on coach number 1 on the Wembley trip, I dare say in time we will hear more about his funding during the year..

  12. I'm with the crowd on McDermott and O'Connor, they need to go. They embarrass us all. What I find odd is that only ragingbull has mentioned Jones Buchanan. He can't even speak, never mind speak nonsense. I have to leave the room when he comes on, it's like he's got someone else's teeth in. I've no idea how he got the gig in the first place, but he can't possibly continue if the sport is having a bit of a clear out. One obvious prerequisite is speak clearly, isn't it?

  17. He is still only young, and as others have said, staying at Saints is still better than going to a terrible NRL club like the Dragons.

  18. Our young un moved houses over a year a go and i still have some of his stuff in my spare bedroom.I don't know why as he moved from a two bed to a five.Yesterday tidying up for Christmas i found a DVD Retro Rovers Vintage Video The Paul Newlove tries 122 in 150 games for Rovers.10 caps while at Fev 8 for G.B.It is signed on the back cover by Paul.I will watch it sometime over Christmas. The legend John Hill describes him with the words Power Pace and Perpetual Motion. It will bring back some memories.

  20. And on the other flank powerful ex-NRL winger Etu Uisale, having as always in those days "fought off significant SL interest", what could go wrong? Too soon to write off those 2014 signings anyway, I hear Liam Walmsley's almost ready to resume training.

  21. That is good news. Have also seen that Sean Rutgerson (the USA coach) is holding a session with select Utah and Pacific Coast players at the start of January. Hopefully that means the muted NRL-weekend USA v Canada game is on in Vegas.

  23. I second that amen. Not only did we do all that ourselves, we did it without a penny of Supergreed's Danegeld, while Trinity spaffed a quarter century's worth of sky money up the wall, with so little to show for it they eventually had to bounce the council and it's partners into re-building them a ground. No doubt the cost of this will eventually be passed on quietly to the unsuspecting council tax payers of Wakey and the Five Towns. They should be ashamed.

  24. This Sporting Life now showing on Greek TV Cinema 1. One of the best RL films ever made. Trinity will get back there Best not ask how I'm watching it.........

  25. I don't see why they'd send players to a RU school. FFS. Ostracising actual RL players/clubs doesn't reflect well on the project, whether it's about money or not. These things are inter-linked. The photo-op could have been at the RL club and local players had a light shone on them. A small thing perhaps, but it would have showed pride and connection - rather than just rolling in without a care.

  28. Already started on their own forum: Two weeks ago, top of this thread he was a top end Championship prop worth a £15000-£20000 transfer fee. Now he's gone...well, he was rubbish anyway, hardly played last season etc etc. They can be very fickle up in Corkickle.

  32. What an American way to conduct themselves. Have a big whinge and spew at the NRL publicly on social media and then play out a “we’re all ok again” post on the same platform a week later. They should have just acted like adults and approach the NRL out of the public eye to see if it was a simple oversight rather than anything sinister.

  36. For me yes but I suppose that would depend on how good his replacement at fullback is. The ideal for Saints is that Bennison develops into a top class fullback at this level allowing Welsby to move into the halves.

  40. Please explain that Thomas, will they or won't they be competing in a league system in that they earn points on a ladder that will determine whether they finish in such a position that will see clubs Promoted or Relegated? You know that I have no interest in the round ball ball game therefore I do not look for any information relevant to it, but in this case with your answer to @MattSantoscould you please clarify for me is Promotion and Relegation to from the Championship based on financial grading? I suspect not.

  44. One person has made a comment. Think you’ll find the vast majority of Haven fans will be sorry to see Tom leave. For many of us it was inevitable but we were clinging to a thread hoping he may come back but wasn’t to be. Tom is a quality prop forward and your gain is our loss. Don’t tar us all based on the comments of one person.

  46. I've always liked Phil Clarke, he picks up on game particulars that often elude the less educated on the panel/commentary team. He also doesn't over dominate discussion unlike some others, but makes pertinent points where required. I know he gets heavily criticised in some quarters, unfairly in my view. He has some wacky suggestions/predictions which no doubt Wilkin will take over the mantle for. Disappointed to see him go and not the likes of Barry, Terry and Bill Arthur who are the real dinosaurs

  47. Amen brother. The unflushable ###### of SL finally get kicked out, but hey ho, here's a new system that'll let them straight back in for, ..... wait for it, ....... building a stand. Fev built a stand in 1986, another in 1997, and two more in 2015. But we're all in the same boat in WMDC, toughing it out against a mean old council that never gives us anything......

  48. Realistically these teams are only beating other amateur teams or maybe 3 or 4 league 1 teams. So with a really fortunate draw, maybe the 5th round but more realistically we might see 1 or 2 in the 4th round.
