  1. Ok, those are all fair reasons. I wonder if the local fans will look at it that way though (hopefully not). Let's hope tickets go on sale soon and they have 2 full months to push sales.
  2. Sorry but can someone please explain to me why 10,000 in Toulouse for France vs England seems so unrealistic? The million pound match in 2021, Toulouse vs Featherstone attracted 9,235 and they had only 8 days to to promote the match! Now this England vs France match has been announced 2.5 months in advance and also coincides with FFRXIII's 90-year anniversary celebrations, so I believe they will be looking to heavily promote the match. I also think 1000+ England/Featherstone fans travelling over is not too far-fetched either. Time will tell I suppose.
  3. From scratch? Is there a chance you are confusing Wales with Ireland/Scotland?
  4. Am curious about the mid-season international in Toulouse. Is 10k a realistic target for that one?
  5. Sounds like an interesting one: https://wrl.wales/richard-hibbard-appointed-as-chief-executive-officer I had not heard of him as I don't follow RU, but he seems like he was quite an accomplished player and now businessman. Let's hope he goes well!
  6. £8,821 was raised in the end it seems. Sounds like it was to clear existing debts, by the sounds of it. Let's hope it was not all done in vain and something can be done to save the club and secure their long-term future.
  7. "keeping the flame alive in Chile"? Yet all the article talks about is their activity in Sydney and their intent to do even more future activity in Sydney. SMH.
  8. Ok, but would the runners and joggers need to get a "license"?
  9. 1 million people actively involved in sport, in a region with a 6 million population does seem disproportionately high to me.
  10. 1,112 reportedly at France vs Greece women's match yesterday.
  11. 1385 of the 2520 at Doncaster were Wakefield fans
  12. Anyone know how Toulouse crowds have been going this year? Looked like approx 2k there today against Swinton.
  13. I tried reaching out to Mr Drake who runs this forum, but no response. Does anyone have a contact at RL Planet perhaps?
  14. A bit confusing... Today they have announced over 10k have been sold for Friday night, but it has not yet been declared a sellout. So, what their actual capacity is, is anyone's guess.
  15. Nothing about it made any sense, nor had any substance behind it.
  16. Round 1 results: Partizan 58-18 Novi Belgrade Red Star 30-44 Dorcol Tigers Really great to see the duopoly of dominance (RS and Partizan) finally being challenged. Hopefully Tigers will be a genuine title contender this year.
  17. April Fools day has begun. Not a bad one as it is kinda believable.
  18. It will become a 'high class' magic weekend of sorts. Those that can afford to travel there will aspire to do so each season, as they rotate the teams. Not really a breakthrough moment, to answer the question in the title. Really interesting article to read though, I must say!
  19. 2,041 today for Oldham vs Rochdale. And yesterday at the same venue, roughly the same for Rochdale Mayfield vs Waterhead.
  20. Ok, let's get this moving then. I see there are quite a few willing to be donors, which is great. For those two would like to help me actually set it up and help run it, please DM me and we can take it from there.
  21. Ok, so it seems there is interest is there. Which is great to see! So I suppose the main question now is how do we get it started and under what 'banner'? TRL perhaps? Euro Rugby League could be another option? Like how a lot of Super League clubs have a foundation of their own, perhaps this could be something like an ERL foundation of sorts? I am just brainstorming, happy to hear other suggestions.
  22. Not necessarily. In fact, I'd be going for clubs with a proven track record, that is then looking to expand. For example, team in country X, their men's team is going well and looking to expand and add a youth or women's team. Start-ups can be risky. I have seen so many attempts, that have just fizzled. So orobably better to invest in some that already have some runs on the board, which is a sign of persistence. Persistence is the #1 requirement for long-term survival. Anyway, this is very much step 2 and 3 things we are discussing now. Better if we keep gauging interest and then working towards getting it up and running.
