  1. Mr Beaumont also said which I did not include is that it is the intention to utiluse the 'Captains Challenge' (thanks for the correction) next season, being so considering it was deemed insufficient camera angles would be available this season, they must be correting it for next season if they proceed.
  2. Isn't that the case with all the clubs especially your last word, but then again that 'investment' is somewhat lopsided in what teams are 'allowed' to spend, if it was a specific 'salary cap' spend which no club could exceed then that would be more of a level playing field. Albeit, I can think of one in the not to distant past where the appointment and investment didn't mesh, at Salford when the good Doc came in, he had the money but then not knowing what he was doing with the coaches appointment took advice from some who also seemingly didn't know what they were doing who told him to employ Brian Noble who proceeded to gather together at no little expense a squad totally not fit for purpose. Incidently, just on that Dr Koucash involvement, he wanted the 'Salary Cap' abolishing so he could spend what he wanted on team building but there was a resentment to it from Chairs and fans of many clubs including the bigger clubs, but now have the authorities gone half way into this with the 3 marquee rule we now employ? Was Dr Koucash a visionary that got derided? I wonder what the game would look like today if the RFL had granted The Good Doc his wish, would we have had more BIG money men willing to invest, would we have the ability to compete with the NRL for the best player's in the world, would we ............ the questions are numerous.
  3. Last year when we were told that VR would be utilised at every game people were very happy with that, but to me and I have said this all season that there is a lack of camera's at the games to properly deliver this function - compare it to the NRL - so if a job is worth doing, do it properly as it is done in the NRL or not at all. This week at a telvised Leigh fans Q&A with Derek Beaumont he was asked would he have the Captains Call at SL games as they do in the NRL, Absolutely he said, he followed up with it was going to be utilised for this present season but in discussion at the council it was decided not to proceed as there will be insufficient cameras employed at the televised games to use it effectively. My case rests your honour.
  4. Hopefully, he will be offered what he is worth to the team, at this moment in time I would say more than what some of the other back row forwards will be on.
  5. I thought we were in the first season of "IMG Proper" or have I dreamt it that no matter where they finish London will be demoted (not using the word relegated) and Cas have openly said that off field expenditure is far more important than team matters.
  6. Yeah, I have done quite a few long haul flights and a good number of cruises Sam, I have watched some NRL stuff but as you say here has never been any RFL games on there. I didn't know that the company being payed to promote SL owned Sport 24, well there's a thing.
  7. Just a minute, I am sure I have heard that somewhere before
  8. Our own fault, to light a squad last year should have secured 4th spot well before the end, then we would have missed 3 v Wigan and got 3 v London and Hull.
  9. Hi Binosh, I thought Holmes played very well on Saturday and would go as far to say I would have him in the 2nd row with Kai before any of the others ag the moment. As for McIntosh must say I didn't see that one coming, maybe get him in the centre ahead of Hardacre who is going backwards very quickly. All my opinion of course.
  10. Not surprised in the least, and I doubt he will also go to Leeds, a lot has to said for being comfortable woth your lot in life, as I said when it was first mooted only curiosity could get him thinking, finances are not even a consideration to persuade him.
  11. I will be totally surprised if he does go, but if it does happen it won't be for the money he has no problems in that department.
  12. Doesn't need the money Gooley, and lives in a very salubrious area about 10 mins from the AJ Bell. I would be very surprised if he took it.
  13. I didn't mention Salford Tommy, I just followed your lead:- "The financial areas you cite are a lot of them balancing the books" I replied with:- Which will become the norm for a lot of clubs,
  14. Which will become the norm for a lot of clubs, "To hell with the game, let's get points on the spreadsheet".
  15. Pardon, no such thing, that insinuation is like saying Tommy Robinson should be the next Foreign Secratary !
  16. Exactly so Damien, I watched the Broncos/Raiders and as always take particular notice of the English lads, Morgan Smithies as reported in this thread made 43 tackles, what is the criteria these days to be awarded a 'tick' for making a tackle as he was usually second/third man joining in to a usually secured tackle. Looks like Ricky Stuart is seeing him as some sort of James Graham taking first recieve, but without the guile of Graham being able to take the line on and then give the ball, Morgan's role is seemingly much more passive passing the ball early.
  17. Zac especially and Tom Briscoe are at the time where the Championship should be calling, Ricky looks like he could easily go round again next term, Hughes is also surplus for me as is Nakabuwie to be taken of the overseas list, if we can replace O'Brien I would also do that, Moylan is looking the part at Full Back I would leave him there, especially with the return of Asiata - to many cooks in midfield - we need a good running 6 he doesn't need to be an organiser, will Sailor or Armstrong fit that bill I know they are prominently FB's so should we be looking again at the NRL for a replacement for Big Ben? As mentioned yesterday I am not sure that McNamara is a long term project. I would want to keep the other 6 'overseas' Amone, Asiata, Lutelle, O'Donnell, Moylan, and Ipape, incidently how many of those are already signed up for next year?
  18. Which he did quite often, but he was good to watch, he wouldn't be one of those like today with his arms waving all over the place at the ref, he bidded his time if you know what I mean.
  19. It ain't an about turn whatsoever Tommy, the triviality as you put it is part of the process and ultimately the total score alloted just like finances, padded seats for directors, clicks on keyboards, the amount of times a team has matches broadcast, led advertising boards, surely you have seen where I have took umbridge against those?
  20. Loved his style of play, never gave anything less than full blood and guts and was no stranger to controversial incidents. Isn't he now on the MRP, seems a little like the poacher turned gamekeeper.
  21. Very surprised that a Premier Division NCL game only had one official, I have attended too many Premier games more than I care to remember and honestly can't every say I have ever only seen the one official at games in this league.
  22. How many games are played over the weekend, 4 divisions of NCL, regional leagues, youth, junior and how many match officials are there? There is a lot of people who bemoan the move to Summer Rugby, saying there are so many other distractions which lead to player's missing games, Holiday's, Weddings, Stag do's, her indoors wanting to do other things, taking the kids out, etc etc, these very same things also apply to match officials.
  23. Thanks for the explanation Tommy, @Archie Gordon has answered it perfectly, nothing else to add.
