Jimmy DoNut
So Cian Tyrer has become the first Oldham player to score 6 tries in a game since the great Ike Southward in February 1960, a staggering 64 years between drinks. I know some of our older fans remember watching the great team in the 50's, so does anyone remember being at 'Sheddings to witness Ike's double hat-trick all those years ago? I believe the opposition were Walney Central in the Challenge Cup.
fiftiesremembered
I remember the match but couldn't remember Ike's amazing contribution. I always remember that match for what I think was the only try scored by Ganley the Great, when he was literally carried over the line by team mates. Great times.
