  1. I think they said for the start of the 2025/6 football season so perhaps in terms of RL maybe the very end of the 2025 season but every project can get delayed.
  2. You have to assume though that one of the Sheffield clubs would want it? Wednesday have never really embraced RL and other than Hillsborough corner there aren’t many bars etc. United have staged matches before and there are more places to eat and drink. A lot of clubs do re-lay pitches in the close season and I’m guessing that there are only a handful of companies that do this so perhaps they have to be booked well in advance? Sunderland is a short Metro ride from Newcastle so would be a decent venue if available.
  3. Very good player last season. I doubt that you’ll find any Eagles fans who are not sorry he’s left.
  4. Na na na na na You’ve got Johnny Sins, Johnny Sins, you’ve got Johnny Sins … seriously he has pace and does know where the try line is. I think he’s been very unlucky not to play more this season but Sheffield had a big squad. Just don’t sing his song when his mum is at games.
  5. Mitch Clark was linked by the journo Matthew Shaw but to be honest he’d be a pretty unpopular signing with fans after he was involved when Titus Gwaze suffered a broken jaw. Supporters don’t pick sides though.
  6. He only lost his place at Sheffield because of a couple of shoulder injuries. A few people saw him play at Doncaster where he was on loan and said that he was very good. But in terms of age, he’s been kept out of the side by Q who’s nearly 39 and when he’s been out BJB who’s 35. I hope Guz finds a good club.
  7. From an Eagles point of view there were no highlights at all. SETV do usually put them up though but a few days later after the media guys (whom all have jobs) get chance to do the edit.
  8. I can recommend Papas Fish and Chip restaurant if you’re hungry after the drive. Assuming you come off the M1 at 34 it’s very easy to find, it is what was the pub on the roundabout opposite Sheffield Arena. Plenty of parking, licensed for those not driving and open after 1200 and it’ll still be open after the game finishes. its not particularly cheap but there is also a takeaway on the side and lots of covered outside tables. Although the pies are ok at the OLP catering isn’t a patch on Plough Lane.
  9. Beat me to it. Thats what my mates have said 18-48 home loss to Bramley and a 94-6 loss at Hemel Stags
  10. Do you still need this info? I can ask the question on the Eagles FB page, probably some Hawks supporters on there, and if not someone may know someone who does
  11. The caves/mines in Castleton are always worth a visit. Each one has its own character. The Oeak Cavern now named the Devils ###### is the most popular. The Speedwell is a short walk out of the village but unique in that you go in a little boat. Eating and drinking….several pubs serve decent food. Hathersage is a decent little village. There is a grave by the church that’s allegedly Little Johns. There’s an outdoor swimming pool. A cutlery ‘factory’ is very small and the stuff is expensive but you can look round I think. You can get a train from Hope to Hathersage…it’s a very short journey. Some trains stop at Grindleford too and from there you can walk uphill through a wood called Padley Gorge. There is a reasonable cafe at Longshaw. Eyam is a nice place too.
  12. This is an extract from an email, I subscribe to TFL. To be honest I never use Wembley Central but maybe of use to people who do. Travel to/from Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12 August On Saturday 12 August, Wembley Central station will be closed due to planned engineering work. There will also be no Chiltern Railways service to/from Wembley Stadium station due to industrial action. If you are attending the Rugby Challenge Cup Finals, please use alternative routes via the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines to/from Wembley Park. For information on national rail services visit the National Rail website. To plan your journey, visit our website.
