RL participation membership fee

Recommended Posts

So genuine question, has there ever been a financial / participation report released by the RFL to show how much income has been generated by the RFL pay to play membership scheme and what benefits (other than the ability to play matches) have been filtered back into the community game, as I seem to recall the scheme was forced through on the back of multiple benefits for community clubs.

It would be interesting to see the participation numbers through all age groups to see what state the community game is in, and would be even better if it could be reported by region so we can see how different areas are doing.

There should an annual report published each year purely for the community game with all this information included along with a breakdown of every league showing the number of broken fixtures etc.

Each individual league would have this information so it shouldn't take too much effort to convert this into a report

Financial / participation reports are provided to the Community Board on a regular basis. There is another meeting due next week. The CB members who represent their constituent bodies presumably feed back to their members.

For everyone else and indeed anyone interested the Community Board minutes and the reports you seek  - they are openly published on the Rugby League.com website under 'Community Board.'

Scroll down to the bottom and enjoy the read......

At the outset of the Membership scheme  two  of the NCL  management team asked for and were allowed to examine the RFL books relating to grassroots spend before the fees were fixed . From memory the very approx RL spend was then £700k  with a projected anticipated income of approx £500k.

The benefits for community clubs are reflected in the  contents and works  behind all that  appears throughout that part of the website.

Hope that helps.....

II don't have the whole game picture, but I do know that registered Midlands Junior activity was up by 19% this year, and that Masters RL has broken the 2000 registered players mark for the first time this year.

I also know that Community Clubs have had their insurance premiums paid for them, as agreed, this year.
