Leighs big calls will be if Zak, Briscoe and Leutele take a reduced contract as their value is declining, allowing more for others on the up, Mulhern Amone Ipape (if back) ODonnell Hanley and Sailor/Thompson

Thompson?

Zac especially and Tom Briscoe are at the time where the Championship should be calling, Ricky looks like he could easily go round again next term, Hughes is also surplus for me as is Nakabuwie to be taken of the overseas list, if we can replace O'Brien I would also do that, Moylan is looking the part at Full Back I would leave him there, especially with the return of Asiata - to many cooks in midfield - we need a good running 6 he doesn't need to be an organiser, will Sailor or Armstrong fit that bill I know they are prominently FB's so should we be looking again at the NRL for a replacement for Big Ben? As mentioned yesterday I am not sure that McNamara is a long term project.

I would want to keep the other 6 'overseas' Amone, Asiata, Lutelle, O'Donnell, Moylan, and Ipape, incidently how many of those are already signed up for next year?

O Donnell, Moylan and Ipape are with us next year.

Leutelle will stay if offered as he is the big reason for Moylan staying and I feel both Asiata and Amone will be big money retentions.

Still plenty to play for. I can see us upsetting Catalans on Friday which will hopefully kick start the season. Lots of twists turns and lack of form to come for some sides.

A decent Centre, a good 6 and a front rower would complete a good side, and you don’t need to go to Australia to find those !

I can see O'Brien playing at 6 when he comes back, with Moylan staying at full back.

So can I although that was the original plan last year and he was shocking.

There some good Half Backs around for sure who would compliment the way Leigh play.

I think GOB at 6 will be a different proposition with Moylan at full back, than he was with Hardaker there to be fair. I don't think Ashton picks up that intercept if O'Brien is making the play on that side.

To be honest, if he has any more performances like Saturday, then Lam's place won't be assured. There was a lot of wayward passes.

I thought it was a decent game, but I am surprised to see so many rating it up there with the games of the season. There was a lot of passion, big defence etc. but there was a limited amount of attacking skill on show from both teams imo. For long spells, defences were on top, with a very slow ruck area, and its reflected in the 5 clean breaks that were made.

It’s also the type of game that Warrington would have lost over the previous 2 seasons

Now come on Dave .....we are in it for the drama more than the technicalities! And I'm terms of too-ing and fro-ing it had the lot

Probably helps that I quite like both teams so didn't have a team I wanted to lose

Your mob in the crowd along with the away support made it come across fantastically well on telly too

I’m so glad I’ve never seen Dwyer in a Wigan shirt. He must be the most frustrating player to have in your side.

Winning score from him incoming.

Dwyer is either brilliant or stupid....he swings between the two....often in the same bloody set!

I guess his last tackle runs from dummy half look brilliant when they pay off but they can't overall be the best percentage play (if someone were to statistically look into it)

No I get that, and I thought there was a lot of good play, but that defences were on top, so there wasn't much champagne rugby. But very enjoyable I agree.

That play at the end, he might have had a chance if he'd gone straight away and kept low, but he got himself upright and went straight into two defenders. Worst possible option. Also thought he was wrong to go right to McNamara when Ashton got the intercept which changed the momentum of the game.

Some very good defence, some poor passes by Leigh, but also 6 very good tries imo.

Leigh will come good but maybe too late.

This Fridays match v Catalans is sink or swim. Playing Wigan 3 times doesn’t help whilst others play Hull and London 3 times.

Bloody loop fixtures ! 😡

Our own fault, to light a squad last year should have secured 4th spot well before the end, then we would have missed 3 v Wigan and got 3 v London and Hull.
