I have been saying this for a few weeks now, Haven given a load of home games in March and April when crowds are lower due to clashing with big Premier League games and the weather being poor, exactly like what happened to us in our disastrous Championship season when we had 7 of our 11 home games within the first 8 games of the season. The cynic in me would wonder if it was done in purpose to make the clubs to run out of money and push for a merger!

Still dont understand how Whitehaven can sack him but try and sweep Dion Aiye's assault on a woman under the carpet? Surely should be the same for both

Very fair response Graeme and I dont know the lad who was banned so don't have a dog in this fight. Playing devils advocate I was looking at the popular side today it looks like there is 50% of the railings not covered by sponsor boards so the lad could have easily avoided this by simply putting his flag somewhere where the club don't get paid for advertising. However would it not have been a better decision to ban the flag from the ground and not the fan?? Looking at todays crowd I dont think we can afford to ban anyone!

Burns was my MoM today, absolutely outstanding in both attack and defence and other than the kick off that went out on the full never put a foot wrong. Taylor and Ecclestone were by far better than what haven have replaced them with and I would imagine would be on a lot less coin than the expensive imports. Henson is a great captain and leader, needs to play 9 all the time though. He can do a good job at loose and can play big minutes there but we miss the spark when he isnt at hooker. I think Muz has a big decision to make v oldham as you cant drop forber or walker after todays performance but obviously need sammut in the team. Would putting him hooker or loose be an option? I notice Blaine never came back on today and saunders was still injured so we could do with someone covering at 9!

Caine 100% won't be back this season, not sure where this runour keeps coming from but sounds like his mind is made up. Hopefully get him back in 2025 if he decides to have another go

Think it only lets you put 21 on that site so Thompson and Walker have probably just been missed off

Reds Reserves arent allowed to use their pitch either, they spend a fortune every home game renting St Benedicts 4G in Whitehaven! Regarding cancelling the stadium and splitting the money that isnt possible unfortunately and would result in several people going to jail!

Fair enough then, I thought Ecclestone was a centre but if he is a winger who has played most of his career in the league above he will be nailed on for one wing and will no doubt smash it in league 1. Just the other wing now with losing Sabutey, Anderson-Moore and Aaron Burns but trust Muzza will have it in hand. Was hoping he would go for Ah Van after they were together at North Wales but obviously he has now signed elsewhere.

More to come I would assume. Guessing we will have a few trialists training with us who will play in the friendlies before a decision is made. We we seem to have the makings of a good squad but cant see any starting wingers??
-
I suppose that depends on what you class as heritage players, looks like there are 3 players out of the 18 who play for English amateur teams but they may have all been born in the Netherlands, there are 15 in the squad who play for Dutch teams but they could have all been born on the moon. As long as they are willing to give their all for the National team of their 'heritage' I cant see an issue. Under 18 tours like this can only be a good thing for the future of the full national team so long may it contunue

How much is an adult season ticket after the early bird offer has expired?

Would be happy to see Tom Curwen sign for another year too now he is over his bad injury

The Maryport money is from the levelling up fund which was 5 million quid that they can spend on anything they want to improve the town, specifically the town centre. The workington sports village was coming out of the Towns fund which was 23 million towards 3 or 4 specified projects, another being the NHS centre on central car park. The money must be used on these or it goes back to the government. For what its worth workington also got 5 or 6 million out of the levelling up fund but instead of making improvements like maryport are doing we are wasting it all knocking down a historic pub and replacing it with a couple of trees.

North Wales only just lost the playoff final, if they had managed to beat Donny would the mighty wakey, Fev and toulouse have refused to go there next season?

Its not a poor sport, its the best sport in the world just unfortunately in the Northern Hemisphere we continually shoot ourselves in the foot!
-
No idea as i havent seen the squad but hopefully have scholey back, he was misssing oldham last week due to failing a HIA during the Midlands game but his 10 days will be up now so as long as he passes his test he wiĺl be starting tomorrow
-
I'm sure Jake used to play loose forward for Hensingham and that seems to be a bit of a problem area for us at the minute so hopefully will fit in there

I think today's ref Brad is a very good referee who should be in super league before the end of the season. I also think he shouldn't be asked to referee Workington games in future as it puts him in a bad situation, he obviously tries to show he isnt biased towards us by giving us feck all. His performance in the first half was as bad as i have ever seen from a referee and i watch lot of amateur rugby league Dewsbury looked like a very good team today and deserved their win, seeing them in the bar after the game they all looked like big lads who will take some stopping

I think its quite smart to be honest, maybe a bit too much blue for a town away kit but still decent!
-
From the Sellafield rumour mill allegedly some local players at haven were owed 2 months wages from the end of last season so refused to start training until it was settled but similar to us last season it was just short term cash flow issues more than anything too critical so they have all been paid now and started training last weekend.

While I think the season ticket prices are amazing value for money it does seem strange that the kids ones are £25. As matchday prices are £5 that is £50 over the season so the season ticket is half price but the early bird price is £2 a game so only £20 for every game, which is cheaper than the season ticket!
-
I see on the fixture list all our home games are listed as 3 o'clock kick offs instead of 2, is this right or just what the RL put until we agree with the other teams?
-
Looking at google it appears Sabutey has been playing for Glebe Dirty Reds in the Ron Massey Cup, so a very decent standard.

Will anybody be carrying on this work now Jamie has left Graeme? Will be a shame if he has planted the seed but it doesnt get chance to grow
