https://www.barrowrlfc.com/match-report/report-barrow-raiders-6-38-doncaster/ In the forwards, Emslie (& Stack) out for next week. Greenwood should be dropped. I'd like to see Ogunwole and Bedward be given some game time, if only for experience sake. In the backs, Costello is out, expect S. Toal will replace him. Brad Walker should be dropped, he contributes little and Jackson brought in. We need some creativity in the half-backs as we currently have none. Might as well make changes after yesterday's diabolical performance, as we'll likely be pasted at Sheffield anyway.

Tee's tries yesterday for Swinton v Dewsbury.
-
We have scored 1 solitary point and conceded 44 points in the last two 2nd halves - 80 minutes of play at HOME. It's almost impossible for that to happen - something is rotten in Denmark Cresta!

What is it with the 2nd half for Barrow teams?! Rugby: Last week: 1st half Barrow 26 - Dewsbury 4: 2nd half Barrow 1 - Dewsbury 16. Today: 1st half Barrow 6 - Doncaster 10: 2nd half Barrow 0 - Doncaster 28. Soccer: Yesterday: 1st half Barrow 2 - Doncaster 0: 2nd half Barrow 0 - Doncaster 4. You can't only play until half-time....

Shocking display. Playing League 1 quality rugby in preparation for next season. Lethargic and slow from the get-go, no ideas how to score, Swiss-cheese defence. It's hard to see which teams we will beat this season, especially away.
-
We were great v Dewsbury last week in the 1st half, pathetic in the 2nd half and we came close to losing. Barrow Soccer did exactly the same yesterday at DONCASTER, Up 0 -2 at the half, lost 4 - 2, allowing 3 goals in last 10 minutes, a huge blown to their play-off chances. So here's hoping the Rugby stick it to DONCASTER today as a pay-back for yesterday. Rugby/Soccer games last for 80/90 minutes, so don't slacken off and sit back if you're winning. Keep pushing for the entire game, even if you're ahead, otherwise you could lose.

Tee Ritson in Swinton squad for Sunday. His face doesn't seem to fit at Saints, no idea why? Lots of Saints fans are fuming as their wingers lack speed. But the lad is now getting some game time, hope he shines (just not against us...).

Kavan Rothwell misses out after picking up a knock which is being assessed - Raiders website.

I think Broadbent might be available this week. Where will he fit in? And is there no spot for Shane Toal now?

Ey up, very crafty, typical Tyke, lulling opponents into false sense of security. Dewsbury boy Eddie Waring has taught you how to play the underdog card - early bath for you Yorkie. The real reason you tight Yorkshire tea-drinkers are not coming over is none of you want to pay the admission, Ee ba gum... Ta' ra.

Somewhat encouraging that the 3 tries we conceded were all scored out wide, left and right wings, nothing through the middle. Having said that, we were very lucky to score a no wind-issue converted try and a winning wind-assisted drop goal inside the last 5 minutes, which made up for the late drop goal disappointment loss at Whitehaven. The betting pundits say Raiders, Haven and Swinton all at 100/1 will be the bottom 3, but yesterday the Lions unexpectedly beat 2nd favourites Toulouse in France, so you never know who will beat who. But we really need to win our next 2 homes games against the 2 promoted teams Dewsbury and Doncaster as I fear we'll struggle to win many of our away fixtures. Just my 2 Cents as of early April.

2 thro' kicks, a charge down, a dive from play the ball and a Carter drop did us in.

I can't make games on Good Fridays, so can't comment from personal experience. But once again our lack of the BASICS is a problem and that's inexcusable for a professional team. At Widnes it was too many offsides and sin bins, this week it's too many playing-the-balls mistakes, not finding touch, etc. We are shooting ourselves in the foot and losing games because of it - not because the opposition was the better team. That's what hurts and lack of discipline will kill you every time. Cresta needs to get this sorted at training or York will beat us next week and we'll be 0 - 3 and we'll be bottom of the league.
-
Good news you have for Good Friday - no ban for B. Walker, Bulman fit, Rothwell in - here we come Whitehaven.
-
Just remembered Luke Broadbent is currently sitting out with a 4-game ban for throwing a punch. This ill-discipline has got to stop, otherwise we're doomed before the Season has even started.
-
Grade E is 3 - 5 match ban plus a fine from the very 1st game of the Season. Shooting ourselves in the foot from the get-go. Let this be a lesson for everyone else (Stack & Johnson particularly) for the rest of the season. Fortunately Adam Jackson is a competent replacement.

No idea what's going on with Tee Ritson and Saints. He hasn't been selected this season and now with Tommy Makinson injured and centre Percival banned, Paul Wellens said he'll likely stick with the same team v Leeds on Friday - ie: centre Blake on the wing and forward Whitley in the centre. For whatever reason flying winger Tee is totally out of favour and can't get a game in the 1st team. Wonder if he regrets leaving Barrow - maybe we could get him loaned back?
-
Shame on Whitehaven if this guy remains captain. Most Football and Rugby teams would have fired him, BUT they might be waiting for his sentencing on March 14th.
-
HIGHLIGHTS. TRINITY V RAIDERS
-
Apologies, slip of the pen, Bedward not 'Bedwell' (oops). From Barbados and previously had a few games with Coventry and was selected for British Universities. Might not be in the final 17 anyway.
-
Is James Greenwood injured? Not in the 20 for Wakefield. What position do Bedwell (Trialist?) and Anderson-Moore (Local?) play? No Stack or Broadbent as both are suspended.
