Looked like men against boys and when you consider the young kids littering the Hull team then that's why. Very pleased with their efforts tonight, some much more experienced Hull teams have been on the end of worse defeats. The penalty count must have ended up about 9-1 in favour of Saints and the first six again awarded to Hull was in the last ten minutes when the score was 52-0 so they were really up against it. I just hope that the kids don't lose heart and keep turning up for each other, there is some real talent there.

From the Facebook rumour mill : ”Mally Walker has bought Hull FC out, along with Nick Barmby, Scott Taylor and Murray who owns MKM. 2.65 mil total buy out including debt.....they have offered 3 nrl players a deal, one being Jackson hastings from Newcastle knights.. Announcement tonight. ” My word…if only!

This game is the start of a possible 240 minutes of sheer terror for Hull FC supporters with the fear of losing the only thing that we can have a pop at our East Hull friends about! Leigh only have to look at the Good Friday Hull derby to realise that my shower actually managed to win the second half for some positivity. (Yes, we are that desperate!) But, as with the majority on here, I just can't see Hull KR losing at home. Leigh's only chance will be to get on the board with a couple of early scores first. Failure to do that may well see a fairly comprehensive home win. And a long agonising wait until the semi finals for me.

I've probably told this story before but... Some years back, Hull FC held a fans' forum with a panel featuring owner Adam Pearson, head coach Lee Radford and new signings Mahe Fonua and Sika Manu, all facing questions from both supporters and BBC Radio Humberside's Gwylym Lloyd. The evening was going very well with an air of positivity about it all. Then the intrepid BBC reporter Gwylym tried to ascertain how serious the two new signings were taking their contracts and wanted to know if they would put 100% effort into their performances on the field. "So you haven't come here for a holiday then?" asked Gwylym. Struggling to keep a straight face, Lee Radford jumped in with "You've lived in this city long enough Gwylym, nobody comes to Hull for a holiday". It was a good five minutes before the hysteria had died down and any more questions were submitted.

As plenty have alluded to on here, Hull FC have been a “sleeping giant” since nodding off in the mid 80’s. The potential of the club is enormous if anyone can come in, get the house in order, and get it right. The club always have the biggest support at MW and still average five figure gates despite being garbage for the last six years or so. After multiple false dawns, it would be wonderful to have a team that doesn’t ship in embarrassing scores more often than not. Here’s hoping!

Hull FC offer Tex Hoy to other SL clubs…
Old Frightful replied to Old Frightful's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
That's not very fair, Franklyn Pele has hit far more than he's missed, as the RFL disciplinary minutes will confirm. As regards Hoy, I remember shaking my head while watching a pre season interview with him last year after he signed. His comment (paraphrased by me) that "Hull FC wouldn't lose a derby while he was playing" was just a stupid thing to say. As recent games have confirmed.
