I don't think you can grade Hull. We've dropped out and gone to work in Burger King.

Well it's never boring being a Hull fan. Chamberlain is joining on loan from Leigh, and Tom Briscoe is strongly rumoured to be coming too with Darnell McIntosh going the other way. Josh Griffin is another one I've seen linked with a return (he fell out with Smith, but apart from that he didn't want to leave apparently). Other rumours include Okunbor being released and Tuimavave retiring (potentially taking up a coaching role). Ligi Sao leaving to become a fireman (no I'm not joking). I'm sure I've missed a few too.

Thats the way I see it. The Hull job is high risk high reward. He could fail miserably like so many before him, but if he finally becomes the man who gets it right at Hull he can achieve things that simply aren't going to be possible at Salford. I think if you are ambitious and have confidence in your own ability then it's still an attractive job, especially if there are assurances about investment coming in and he is being promised a good playing budget. I'd be very happy with the appointment if it happens.

I think the difference against Saints was that it was a very, very young and inexperienced team. We knew there was no chance of a result, we just wanted them to go and give it their best and for the most part they did. Previously its been senior players letting us down when they really should do better. From the 17 against Saints we had, Moy, Martin, Litten, Charles, Balmforth, Gardiner, Jebson and Laidlaw who are all 21 or younger. Out of that lot only Litten has played more than 10 first team games I believe. There are some talented kids amongst that lot, but we all understand that they are not ready yet and have been thrown into this situation because we don't really have any other option. Its a baptism of fire for them, but if they have the right attitude then they will be a lot better for the experience they are getting this year.

Oh well, nothing to see here. Just jam tomorrow. It's the hope that kills you. -

The club have now officially announced that Hoy and Brown have left the club. Gives us a few quota spots and an awful lot of cap space if an injection of cash is indeed imminent. -

I saw someone saying that Nu Brown had requested a meeting with James Clark a couple of days ago and handed in his resignation claiming that the coaching was a shambles. No direction, no gameplan, not listening to players etc. The fallout of this meeting being that Smith got the chop. Totally unsubstantiated of course but it would tie in with the reports that Brown has also left the club. I tend to think that the timings are too much of a coincidence, and whoever is buying/investing in the club had made it a condition of his investment that he wanted the decks cleared to bring in new players/coach. -

I'm not bothered about a "character," I just want someone who has a decent amount of wealth and makes sound decisions (business and rugby). If we get things right on the field we have the fan base, catchment area and facilities to be successful without the gimmicks. -

Yeah I heard that too, although I'm not sure if there's substance to that one. Sounds like big changes are happening anyway, which certainly isn't a bad thing. -

Lots of rumours doing the rounds at the minute. Potentially the most significant one is that the club has been sold to Malcolm Walker and will be announced very soon. Malcolm Walker is from Hull and a former Hull FC player. He owns Victoria Plum and is worth upwards of £200m Would be the best news in a long time if this turns out to be true. -

In the club statement there's a quote from Pearson saying that further restructuring of the club will happen in the coming days. I very much hope that part of that is that new investment has been secured. -

I think his contract ended at the end of this year anyway, so in this case probably not that much. -
