  1. Likewise. Yet if they’re owned by the same person as the Falcons they must be looking at the RFU central funding and then looking at next years RFL distribution and be thinking why bother
  2. Ideally we would have touch judges, but surely the second best thing is club touch judges one person from each team and that would have gotten the right outcome on the goal
  3. Let’s not airbrush history. As a league one team Thorman had us moving the ball really well with Hanley Dawson a ball playing 13 our backs managed plenty of tries The gulf from league one to championship is immense at least today showed the team assembled can compete in every game
  4. Sadly I think we (Seaton) have lost too many players to be in that discussion, we’ve had three really good players gone for the season on top of the four who turned pro Millom have been impressive pre season and Brad Crellin will be huge for them fancy them to have a good season
  5. There is mate albeit it would only apply to two of them
  6. It doesn’t matter about players approaching the club Graeme. There’s rules in place that limit transfers and the only exception to that is if the team they play for then folds completely. Comments in your reply show you don’t understand the community game and if you’d engage the people who are at the coal face you might gain a better understanding and we wouldn’t be here discussing the matter Another Workington team isn’t an issue. Nobody had any complaints with Salterbeck and the work Distington are doing now is phenomenal, but one that’s tied into the local professional club using the club badge and stadium doesn’t sit right because despite your KPIs and statistics the people who keep the community clubs going to keep the sport alive locally and provide a pathway to play for Workington Town know how hard recruitment and retention of players is in the sport at community level A womens team is a great idea and an under 18s team representing the whole of Allerdale and cutting out club divides to stop the loss of players between under 16 and open age in the area now that’s two things that the club could be getting behind …………
  7. But it’s a separate amateur club with nothing to do with the club other than using the stadium as a selling point isn’t it??
  8. Agree. Hopefully there are 200 young people out there in the town who don’t already play and will be encouraged to do so but as someone who’s at the coal face it’s hard to get lads to play the sport. Do you think kells and Hensinghams youth are all from kells and Hensingham?
  9. That’s what scholarships are for. Name another professional club that lends its stadium and club crest to an amateur team? I’m all for another youth team with a plan to increase the amount of players and I hope that’s the case or it really risks burning all bridges with at least the community club I’m heavily involved in
  10. Where do you think players like Fitzy, Caine, Malik, Ciaran, Tom Curwen, and on and on and on have come from?
  11. No idea how we fund it but Barrow are the blue print to be aiming for
  12. Needs a big injection of experience in the forwards especially the front row
  13. Callum will be a while off being ready to play too
