Agree with everything you've got here, except I would give Wigan an A. That win over Penrith was pretty decent and enough for an A at this stage, given their league standings. A D might be a little on the generous side for Leeds.

Did the Dalesway a few years back and that was really lovely. A gentle introduction to long distance hiking through Wharfedale, into Cumbria and finishing on Lake Windermere. A great laugh with some mates and one I would highly recommend. We also had planned to do the Coast to Coast until covid scuppered that plan. We're slowly crossing off the Wainwrights, although that is increasingly slowed down with us now living so far away! The advantage now being in Cornwall means we have the South West Coast path right on our door step and we are ticking that off nicely having completed the vast majority of the north Cornish coast and about half of the south Cornish Coast. Seriously diverse and as challenging as anything I've ever walked with the continuous up and down! Bucket list of long hikes: Tour du Mont Blac Camino de Santiago Coast to Coast.

From all that I have read and seen, the weekend seemed to be a great boost in the domestic Aussie markets. No doubt about that. A swallow doesn't make a summer though and from everything I've seen and read it hasn't broken into the US (not that it was expected at this stage either). The TV audiences in the US weren't great though. They were weaker than I'd anticipated. It needs a lot more time to see how it goes in the coming few years. My concern being that one weekend a year is a drop in the ocean compared to everything else in US sport. It's incredibly hard to break through and if it's mainly about being a domestic boost, then it's working. But it's a hell of a long way from breaking into the US at the moment.

I may well be looking at this through a warped Leeds lens... I was left feeling really quite frustrated from the game. Yes, Leeds let the game go and weren't dominant enough for long enough to deserve the win. However, I though Saints got away with an awful lot around the ruck, it was almost like watching Saints in 2023 and that the ruck was poles apart from what we witnessed in the first couple of rounds. There were hands all over the ball and a lot of knees/third man joining late etc. I was really hopeful for a cleaner ruck in 2024 and the first couple of rounds were so refreshing to see an open flowing speedy game. 2 steps forward and another 2 back.

Restructure of Championship and League 1
tiffers replied to Rene_Artois's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I agree - this seems like a sensible way forward as there is so little difference between those middle 8. The lower 8 have competition and competitive games amongst one another and the same for the top of the championship. All round, seem sensible. -
Maybe he had the other angle on one of his 7 cameras that no longer see in the live broadcast. Either way, his foot is very likely to be in touch and the video ref made his call. Despite whether decisions are right or wrong on the field, Derek has to realise that he is representing the game and has significant influence on the people in and around his club and community. Behaving as he did last night does nothing to promote RL in a positive light. It does a lot to undermine it. It damages it's image and promotes toxicity around the RFL, referees (name your culprit). He has a responsibility to that end. If he feels as he should, there are places and forums for that discussion to happen in. It shouldn't be on twitter. It's the classic "them Vs us" that gets your followers on side and to hell with the consequences.
