Swinton (A)

I’ve not been able to attend the last couple of games and so can’t directly comment on performance. 
 

We must have all realistically expected this to be a hellish season, the team is weaker than most be based on Dewsbury resources is as good as we’re gonna get. The pack is too soft and too often we lack natural creativity. 
 

However I do feel we show quality at times. It’s discipline, leadership and sometimes (mental and physical) fitness that we mainly lack. If we can turn our good 30 minute spells into 60 minute spells then we should pick up points- not loads but some.

I don't think that half back was where our defensive weaknesses were, though. We conceded points right at the end that made the game look more unbalanced than it was and these coincided with Dixon getting a yellow card. I expect him to get a ban for that as well.

Perhaps conceding late on is more worry and emphasises the point about fitness, is it becoming a trend for us?  We let Halifax in on the last play of the game to make the score line look worse than the actual performance, same against Batley, preventing us from nilling our nearest and dearest and as BSJ says, same again on Sunday. We need to cut this out. Imagine we're 2 points in front against our other relegation contenders only to concede so late on. If it happens in enough of the "winnable" games before you know it we only have the Batley victory to look back at and we're rock bottom looking up!
