Supported independent living is the same as group home living: One of the biggest misconceptions about SIL is that it is similar to living in a group home. In reality, SIL offers individuals the opportunity to live in their own space and make their own choices, while still receiving the necessary support they need to thrive. Unlike group homes, Supported independent living emphasizes individuality and independence.
