I say we continue to practice our wide open game and see if we can improve once more....if we win we win and if we lose we lose...so what. Gotta start to gel as a team...that is the important thing. It almost seems as if McD is using this early season as practices to get them used to playing a free-flowing style with lots of ball movement. Ideally suited to a warm summer day at Lamport. Not so much to a cold rainy day in northern England. Looks great when it works; laughably inept when it doesn't. Makes you wonder why they didn't schedule a couple more pre-season games... unless they were already worrying about their painfully thin squad and didn't want to risk injuries. Meaning they will have 11 days of rest before the game at York against Trinity. So they could still take that cup round seriously and see what happens. RFL should cancel February, play a 22 game season, play more rounds of the cup in winter, as suggested by Martyn Sandler on League Express.
