  1. Would rate this as the best CC final I have ever attended. Prior to leaving the UK in 1966 I was at them all from 1948 and came from Aus to see another half dozen or so- most involving Hull. Agree on your strip comments.
  2. Dear Petula Clark (Born Sally Clark)- saw her perform a few times and picked up a pirated sound tape of her hits for Aus$2 in Hong Kong in 1971.Hugely popular in the US.
  3. Foran looked OK running up and down the touchline near half time. Should be back.
  4. Was at the Wembley 1968 "Watersplash" CC final in 1968 (Leeds v Wakefield). These conditions reminded me of that epic match. So many memories from that occasion!
  5. Problem at the Storm between Nelson and Bellamy. According to reports Nelson was overweight and told to shed some kilos and has not responded quickly enough. Hence his absence from the starting squad.
  6. Straight home or with a stop-over break. In any case enjoy the trip back.
  7. A lowlight...... Made no attempt to put his foot anywhere near the ball in his PTB's. Probably seeking to emulate Tedesco who can go a whole season of PTB's without his foot ever being near the ball.
  8. Absolutely. Head injury protocol completely absent there. Had the bunker doctor gone AWOL?
  9. Addo-Carr out of the match with a Cat1 concussion after a heavy hit by Mitchell in a try attempt on halftime.
  10. Luai improved enormously on his form in recent matches and Schneider had a really solid game at 7. Robinson said the Panthers were far better on the night and hit the soft pedal on the disallowed bunker try for Manu. Cleary stated that he has resolved not to comment on bunker decisions but did offer a view that black/white decisions never worked with RL rules.
  11. I believe the absence of Cleary and Fisher- Harris will tip it Sydney's way. Looking for big improvements from both Luai and Martin as both are below par at the moment.
  12. Best game in Aus...... GB beating Aus in the third Test at the SCG in 1970 to win the Ashes Series 2-1. The last occasion GB won the Ashes. Best game in England.... Wigan v Hull at Wembley in 1985. Came from Aus to see the Kenny/ Stirling match up.
  13. Loved Ice Hockey as a kid in Hull but back then in the forties and fifties there was no team. Our school in Hull every year organised a day excursion by train to the CC final and after the match a visit to the Wembley ice rink to watch the Wembley Lions play. Usually the opponents were the Brighton Tigers.
  14. A good performance from Melbourne considering the absence of key personnel.
  15. After leaving the UK in the mid 60's I made occasional visits to Hull before in 2010 finally seeing them play at home for the first(and last time.) It was a night match against St Helens and we won a thriller in the last minute. I remember a decent crowd being present but the atmoshere was almost non-existent and the whole experience a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps the fact that I watched Hull play almost every home match at the Boulevard from the mid forties to leaving Hull in 1960 contributed- the atmosphere was always great there.
