I've got all of Cardiff City's 1st season homes Phil and 36 in total. I gave 14 Sheffield programmes to a Sheffield fan last week but I still have 76 from various seasons. I did have every Celtic Crusaders programme ever played home and away and I went to most of them, but I have already given a couple away. I've got 52 Fulham programmes + London Broncos and Harlequins. I have 46 Mansfield programmes and a friendly .v. Carlisle - played in Penzance! I've got Blackpool, Springfield Borough, Liverpool City, Huyton and others. I gave all my Trafford Borough homes away. I will also have aways for all these clubs? I'm going to get ready to go and watch Swinton now and will be busy for the rest of the day but I will have a closer look and e-mail you when I get chance. I won't let anybody else have the ones you have quoted as you asked first. -

I've got Rochdale Hornets .v. Salford 1947-48 season, but next oldest Rochdale programme is 1964. I might have some aways but would have to look through each club in my catalogue individually. I've got 13 Southend homes and will have quite a few aways too. I know I gave away one yesterday - Challenge cup at Bradford. When you say Bridgend I assume you mean the club that were formerly Cardiff City? I have Bridgend Blue Bulls as well. I've got 7 Bridgend homes from their only season, including the very first .v. Swinton. I will have aways but again would have to look through each club individually. I've got 24 Nottingham City/ Nottingham Outlaws homes. Only 2 are from the 1988-89 season .v. Halifax and Rochdale Hornets. Again I will have aways as well. I know I gave away the Trafford Borough .v. Nottingham City programme last week. I can look through aways if you seriously want them? Let me know. -
1974-75 .v. Hull KR at Batley in the Challenge cup and 1977-78 .v. Wigan at Batley also in the Challenge cup.
-
If I have time to dig them out before Sunday? Do you want Dewsbury aways as well?
-
No problem. I'll be the old guy in the RL shirt you have probably never seen before?
-
Thanks Coolie but I don't follow Swinton away, and I don't visit any grounds (Football or RL) that don't sell a printed programme, even though I'm getting rid of my collection. In fact, I don't watch a lot of RL these days. I watch non league football Saturdays but when that finishes I will watch amateur RL. I watch Swinton home games. I am actually a Salford fan but I stopped going to watch them in 2000, on principle, because I don't like Super League. I don't even watch Super league on TV much, unless Salford are playing. I will bring these programmes on Sunday. Do you want me to bring the amateur ones too?
-
Are you only interested in the Dewsbury issues or the amateur ones as well? I will be at the Swinton game if you want to pick them up from me there? I usually sit in the downstairs bar.
-
What project?
-
I have recently decided to give away my collection of 9,000 RL programmes and I have 48 Dewsbury programmes back to 1965, 11 Dewsbury Celtic programmes back to 1974 and 5 Dewsbury Moor programmes back to 1996. I will be at Swinton .v. Dewsbury next Sunday and can bring them with me if anybody wants them? I will also have aways for these teams especially Salford, Swinton, Leeds & Hull KR. If you want anything particular, let me know on here and I will see if I have it? Thank you.

Fair enough mate. I want to see if I can help a few people with their collections before i get rid of what is left but I will consider them. About a third of my programmes are from amateur teams, even pub teams. Do they take the? A local history group heard I was trying to give away my collection and they called me. They want to take the really old Salford progs and after talking to me on the phone they asked if they can come round and interview me on film. Maybe that will attract some interest? Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. -

Are they part of the RFL? Only I have no time for the RFL because i am a Rugby League fan and they are only interested in Super Greed! -

I've no idea mate about modern technology but over the years I have spent hundreds of hours in various libraries looking on Microfisch film, researching old newspapers for info on amateur RL and they go back over 100 years so I imagine it is possible but nobody seems to care anymore. I've been really encouraged that I have been able to help 1 or 2 people with their collections but I still have thousands left. -

I will get all the homes and aways together that you want Cyril and I will include the ones where I think the dates changed due to postponements and they we will sort something out. I live in Winton, which is Eccles not far off the Worsley junction of the M60 but I travel around a fair bit watching non league football. been through Bradford 3 times lately to Ilkley, Steeton and Guisley. I will most likely be at the Swinton .v. Bradford game too but I don't know when that is at the moment. We will sort it after I sort out your programme wants mate. -

From your list Cyril I have got Salford (7/12/75), Fulham 28/04/82 (postponed from 27/12/81), Southend 24/2/85 (postponed from 10/02/85), Castleford 9/1/93, Workington 31/1/93, Sheffield 6/11/94 & Swinton 4/9/16. Check your dates mate. I am certain some of them are wrong. I think they are all original dates and don't account for postponements? I have some of the programmes from the seasons you want but not on the dates you quote. Example - You have St. Helens home on 19/12/82 but Bradford played at Widnes that day in the JPT. I have the programme for the St. Helens game that season on 12/04/83. You also have Oldham at home on 04/12/88 but I have a programme on that date .v. Leigh in the JPT? I have put these on one side for you know. Look through the aways to see if you want any of those and I will put them together. Also let me know if you are missing any cup finals and semi-finals. -

Bare with me Cyril while I check but I reckon I have 15 of those programmes. My lists are not recorded by full date, just season and competition so I need to physically dig them out and check dates. If you are interested I have an A team sheet .v. Salford in 2000 (I went to that) and the 1992-93 A team programme .v. Hull A in the Yorkshire senior cup final. If you give me a list of aways try to give just season and competition. I will have most Salford, Swinton and Celtic Crusaders but I also have lots of Leeds, leigh and Hull KR. I have lots from every other club too including defunct clubs. I will also have many Bradford finals and semi-finals and all cup comps, including Wembley 1948. I will come back and confirm which homes I have. If you can collect them you can have them. -

Celtic Roosters replied to Hopping Mad's topic in Rugby League Collectors Forum
I've got a few from last season and there was next to nothing in them. Shame because I have 67 Leigh East programmes going back to 1989 and it used to be a great effort. Looks like nobody is interested anymore Hopping Mad. I'm offering my collection of around 9,000 free and I'm having trouble finding people who want them? Several have made enquiries but not turned up for them. Hopefully, I have somebody coming today for all my Oldham St. Annes, Saddleworth Rangers, Blackpool Galdiators and Trafford Borough programmes. A box full. I've managed to help a few ex players (Rochdale Hornets, Swinton & Salford) or their families with old programmes with their names in. I gave Malc Alker's family all my Salford programmes with him on the front, or articles about him inside. They were so pleased it made the effort worth while. I had one guy ask me if I had a Salford programme on a near his Dad's birthday (27/01/63) and I looked too! That was the worst winter and Salford didn't play from 15/12/62 until 02/03/63. -

I just had a message from a friend of mine who had a collection of 7.000 progs back to the 1940's. I remember him moving a long way to a much smaller place a couple of years ago and asking on here if anybody wanted his programmes? I just asked him what he did with them in the end. They went to landfill. I can't do that. It would be like throwing half of my life in the bin. -
I have decided to let my programme collection (about 9,000) go for free since it looks like I will never be able to sell them. Too many to list but just about every club including amateurs and defunct clubs. Internationals and hundreds of cup finals and semi-finals. If you need something to complete your collection let me know and if I have it - you can have it/them if you are arrange collection. I've already helped a Salford fan in Brazil complete his collection, and saw the Celtic Crusaders .v. Brisbane Broncos programme go to a fan in Brisbane. I am also donating 379 Eccles/ Salford City Roosters issues back to the club. I have somebody interested in my Oldham St. Annes, Saddleworth Rangers, Blackpool Galdiators and Trafford Borough programmes but all the rest are up for grabs.

Thanks Mumby Magic, for the info but a digital copy is the same as none at all to me!I drove over to Bradford a few years back to watch a rare Saturday afternoon game against North Wales Crusaders. They told me at the gate that there was no programme, so I got back in my car and drove to Dudley Hill instead. I got a programme there! I have 29 Dudley Hill programmes and 94 Bradford Northern/Bulls programmes back to 1965 but looking to off load them now. I don't love Rugby League like I used to. -
Thanks Groundhopper. That's useful. I'm 68 now and decided to try and get some money for my collection of almost 9,000 RL programmes. Nobody is seems interested. I've started to give some away. A friend in Brazil was short of 2 Salford programmes so I let him have them and my Celtic Crusaders .v. Brisbane Broncos programme has gone to a Brisbane fan in Australia. I have programmes from every other game that Celtic Crusaders ever played. I have loads from defunct clubs like Bridgend, Southend, Kent Invicta, Prescot panthers, Blackpool, Chorley, Trafford Borough, Springfield, etc, etc. I have 100's from amateur clubs because that was my main passion. I have most of the BARLA National cup finals from the first one in 1973. I have quite a few from Summer Conference clubs as well, like Ipswich Rhinos. My oldest programme is a Salford programme from 1933. If anybody is interested just let me know what you are looking for and I will see what I can do?
